As president of the California Democratic Council, Henry has focused on bringing training and organizing resources to more than 400 clubs and counties across the state.
Under his leadership, CDC has now:
- Brought FREE training to Humboldt, Kern, El Dorado, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Santa Clara and Ventura counties - with more scheduled
- Trained 500+ Democratic Leaders
- Provided over 140 clubs, counties and caucuses with FREE websites
- Supplied FREE banners, leadership manuals, registration tables and booths to clubs/counties
- Ensured FREE access for clubs and counties to a true voter database system such as VAN or MOE for year-round organizing programs
Over the last decade, Henry's been a club president, a county committee vice chair, a state party caucus chair, an AD delegate, and an E-Board member.
He recently became Political Director for the Democratic Party of Orange County to bring his vast statewide organizing skills to the reddest county in the country.
Henry also travels across the state as the technology instructor for the CDP's new “Learn to Win 2010” campaign training program!
Congratulations to Laurence
I want to publicly extend my congratulations to Laurence on his win this past weekend for the open DNC male slot. I'm sure that he will represent California well at the national level.
Although it is obviously disappointing to have lost by only five votes, I'm hoping that my campaign has raised awareness with our executive board leaders about the fact that red counties are not represented on the DNC and the need for a real 58-County strategy in this state. One that actually includes and represents all the counties within this state.
Through my role with CDC, I will continue the work we have been doing up and down the state providing the much needed organizing tools and training to the red and rural communities - as well as the blue areas.
I am hoping that the blue DNC delegation now realizes how important it is for them to reach out and help with that work and that those of us in the red counties will be expecting to see more of them during the remaining years of their term.
A big thank you to everyone who believed in me. I am honored to have had your support and will continue to work hard for you.
My Goals
- Ensure that training and organizational resources are a
priority on a national level - Turn the 50-State Strategy into a reality (which is why DFA has endorsed me)
- Educate voters on the importance and necessity of the
Employee Free Choice Act - Get more blue districts to help out the red areas and understand why it helps them as well
- Be a voice for progressive grassroots Democrats from both
red and blue counties
